Maryam Abacha American University of Niger– Maradi, has extended its deepest condolences to a staff of the university, Dr. Abdoul Rachid Amadou over the death of his father, Alhaji Amadou Lawali.
Aged 67, Alhaji Amadou Lawali died on Tuesday at his residence in Maradi, Niger Republic following a prolonged illness.
In a condolence message on Wednesday, the President of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, expressed deep shock over the passing of the deceased.
“Inna lilahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun.
“It is with great sadness and deep shock but with total submission to the will of Allah that we receive the news of the passing of our father, Alhaji Amadou Lawali. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus”.
“May He also comforts the family during this grieving and difficult period,”
Prof. Gwarzo described the death of Alhaji Amadou as a great loss not only to his immediate family, but to his relatives, friends and associates as well as the university community.
Prof. Gwarzo who commiserated with the bereaved staff, prayed to Almighty Allah to comfort the family of the deceased and give them the strength to bear the great loss.
“On behalf of the management, staff and students of MAAUN Group, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Abdoul Rachid and the entire family of the deceased, ” the statement said.
Prof. Gwarzo prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased and admit him in Jannatul Firdaus.
The deceased, who left behind 16 children including Dr. Abdoul Rachid, had since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites in Maradi.
