Legal Week: MAAUN Niger Law Students Conduct Moot Court in Honour of Justice Saulawa

Maryam Abacha American University of Niger- Maradi has organized a moot court Championship in Honour of Honourable Justice Ibrahim Muhammad Musa Saulawa of the Supreme Court.

The moot court championship was part of activities organized by the university for law students to commemorate the 2024 Legal Week.

Other activities conducted during the legal week include presentation of lectures, Legal Walk/ Call to Bar SRC ceremony and Rehearsal of moot and Mock Trial proceedings by Muhammad Yusuf Abba and Abba Muhammad Bello.

The week long program also featured Debate Competition (impromptu) and Speech Competition in honour of Honourable Justice Husaini Abubakar Musa of the FCT.

The lectures were presented by invited resource persons on topics such as Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Civil Procedure and Law of Evidence.

In his remarks at the occasion, the Registrar MAAUN Maradi, Dr. Shuaibu Usman Tanko, admonished students to be good ambassadors of the university wherever they find themselves.

He also stressed the need for the students to focus on their studies in order to achieve the desired objective.

Also in her remark during the lecture week, a lecturer at the Federal College of Education, Zaria, Mrs Saliha Ladan, advised the students to pay attention to their studies.

She commended the university management for initiating the program and called for its sustenance.

Among the prominent personalities in attendance during the Moot Court were Honourable Justice Ibrahim Muhammad Musa Saulawa, Chief Magistrate Aminu Usman, President of MAAUN Kano, Prof. Mohammad Israr, Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, MAAUN Kano, Dr. Nura A. Yaro, Barrister Umar Isa Sulaiman and Prof. Muhammad Tawfiq Ladan represented by Hafiz Yakub,

The rest were Barrister Zahraddeen Mohammed Bello, Barrister Umar Isah Sulaiman, Barrister Yusuf Muhammad Ahmed, Barrister Abba Muhammad Bello, Barrister Muhammad Yusuf Abba, Barrister Mubarak Maiwada and Barrister Nuhu Kabir Kawu.
